It’s Halloween weekend and time for some scary horror movie viewing. It’s been ten years since the last top-10 list of all-time best, scariest horror films to watch on Halloween, and the past decade brought some of the genre’s greatest entries. So here is the newest, updated list for 2021. Every so often I revisit my lists of greatest films of all time, for whatever genre and within whatever time frame. For the holidays, it’s especially good to update the lists of all-time best viewing. And perhaps no other genre as much as horror (and perhaps superheroes) produces a need for perpetual revision because of the constant supply of new praise-worthy films. So, my updated all-time list of the best movies to watch for Halloween weekend has retained half of the previous entries from my 2011 list, but the rest are new arrivals. And as usual, I try to balance my list to give you a little bit of everything to add up to an optimal Halloween experience.
