Travis Scott will not perform at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival after the Astroworld tragedy, according to some reports.
Travis Scott has been removed from the lineup of performances for the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, according to a report by KESQ in Palm Springs, although reps for the artist, the festival and the city of Indio, Calif., where it is held, had not confirmed that report at the time of this article’s publication. But despite the lack of clarity, it is difficult to imagine Scott performing at any music festival in the near future in the wake of the 10 deaths that occurred last month at his Astroworld festival after the crowd rampaged during his headlining set. A Change.org petition was started in the days after the tragedy, demanding his removal from Coachella’s lineup. The petition has gathered nearly 60,000 signatures as of this writing. KESQ cited “reports” from sources in the city of Indio and its community services manager, but a later report in the area newspaper Desert Sun cited a city rep as saying that any confirmation about the lineup would come from festival promoter, Goldenvoice, who has not commented.
