Microsoft Fixes the Windows Bug Breaking Down Recovery Discs

Latest Windows 10 preview build comes with fix
Microsoft is moving a step closer to the public release of a Windows fix that resolves the bug introduced in January and causing the recovery discovery discs created using the Backup and Restore feature bundled with the OS to no longer start. The issue was caused by the January 2022 cumulative updates on all supported versions of Windows, with Microsoft explaining that third-party products weren’t affected, and all users could switch to them until a fix goes live.
“After installing the Windows updates released January 11, 2022 or later Windows versions on an affected version of Windows, recovery discs (CD or DVD) created by using the Backup and Restore (Windows 7) app in Control Panel might be unable to start,” Microsoft said at that point.
