Announced earlier today at GTC 2022, the RTX 40-series is official, with Nvidia confirming the RTX 4090 as well as two versions of the RTX 4080, with slightly differing specs. Interestingly, it appears the RTX 4080 12GB will only be available through Nvidia’s board partners (AIBs) and will not be available as a Founders Edition model.
We first became suspicious about the lack of a Founders Edition model for the RTX 4080 12GB when casting our eye over the official specs for the three new RTX-40 series GPUs.
