'Cabined Accounts' on Epic Games Store Aim to Keep Young Players Safe

Parental consent and parental controls will be required for gamers under the age of 13 from today.
Epic is introducing a new type of account for the Epic Games Store offering a “tailored experience that is safe and inclusive for young players.”
They are called “Cabined Accounts” and aimed at gamers under 13, or whatever their country of resident’s age of digital consent is. Each Cabined Account will require a parent or guardian to provide an email address which will be used to manage consent for specific features in the store.
Cabined Accounts have a range of features disabled by default, including:
Communication with other players using voice or free text chat
Custom display names
Downloading any games not owned by Epic
Email marketing and push notifications
Purchasing items with money
Recommendations based on past activity
Sign in with Epic or linking accounts to external services, including social media
SMS-based two-factor authentication
Trades in Rocket League
With Cabined Accounts rolling out from today, Epic will ask all players a one-time request for their age when logging into the Epic Games Store or any Epic games.
