Oppo has announced that its flagship smartphones will be eligible for four years of major ColorOS update and five years of security updates.
Following the footsteps of Samsung and OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone giant Oppo has now announced that its flagship smartphones will be eligible for up to five years of the update. Oppo says that its upcoming flagship smartphones will be eligible for four major ColoroOS updates. Oppo shared the announcement through its official ColorOS micro-site.
Even though the upcoming flagship smartphones from Oppo will receive four major ColorOS updates, the company will provide security patch updates to flagship smartphones for as long as five years. It is worth noting that Oppo’s new update policy is not applicable for existing flagship smartphones and will only apply to select upcoming flagships launching.
This means that existing Oppo flagships such as Oppo Find X5, Oppo Find X5 Pro, and others will not be benefitted from this new update policy.
