The acting president of Temple University in Philadelphia, JoAnne A. Epps, died Tuesday afternoon at the age of 72 after collapsing at a memorial service, the university said, following a rocky period of change for university leadership.Key Facts

Epps became ill and collapsed while attending a memorial service at Temple for Charles Blockson, curator of the on-campus art gallery the Blockson Collection, according to the university.

She was transported to Temple University Hospital and was pronounced dead around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
