Clippers’ Mason Plumlee eager to return from knee injury

The center has been sidelined since Nov. 6 after suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee
Mason Plumlee sat in front of his locker Sunday, sporting a bulky knee brace on his left knee. It was more precaution than necessity.
“I think everyone who is coming off a knee injury has to wear this,” Plumlee said before the Clippers lost 145-108 to the Boston Celtics.
Plumlee is close to shedding all braces and other protective gear for his sprained MCL he suffered when New York Knicks forward Julius Randle dove for a loose ball into Plumlee’s knee Nov. 6.
He is on track to return next month.
“It’s getting there,” Plumlee said after limited 3-on-3 drills before Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics.
It was his second time taking part in drills, having played “a little 1-on-1” while the team was in Oklahoma City on Thursday.
