It’s lazy Sunday at last. Time to doff your work gloves, pack up your typewriters, put away your mops and brooms, set aside your studies, kick off your boots and chill out and relax.
Winter is upon us and the time is ripe to kill time with a good movie or show. We’re headed to see The Boy And The Heron Sunday afternoon, the latest Studio Ghibli animated movie. I’m very excited. I’ve never seen a Studio Ghibli film in the theater before!
I’m tempted to make it a double feature and go see Die Hard as well, which is back in theaters for its 35th anniversary. There’s an age-old debate over whether or not it qualifies as a Christmas movie which is silly for two reasons: First, it only matters if the person watching the movie considers it a Christmas movie or not; second, of course it’s a Christmas movie!
Oddly enough, despite the fact that there are tons of Christmas films out there, the good ones are few and far between. I love a good Christmas movie, I just think the bad ones outnumber the good. So let Die Hard supplement the ranks of great yuletide cinema, says I!
