Representative Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican, is the subject of a police investigation after a confrontation with her ex-husband, according to local law enforcement.
Boebert has represented Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District since 2021 and has been among the most outspoken supporters of former President Donald Trump since then, voting against the certification of the 2020 election and supporting efforts to impeach President Joe Biden. Facing dwindling reelection prospects in her current district, she recently announced her intention to seek office in the state’s 4th Congressional District for the next election cycle.
On Sunday, The Daily Beast reported that the Silt Police Department had opened an investigation with Boebert at the center. The congresswoman allegedly got into a physical altercation with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, Colorado, with the latter claiming that his ex-wife punched him in public.
