Biden Admin Asked About Releasing More Medical Records

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the administration has been transparent and comprehensive with Biden’s medical records.
Following the first presidential debate of 2024, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked on Tuesday about releasing more of President Joe Biden’s medical records.
Last week, Biden and former President Donald Trump participated in the first presidential debate of this year’s election cycle, which was hosted by CNN in Georgia. However, while both Biden, 81, and Trump, 78, have faced concerns about their age, Biden failed to quell those concerns during the debate after he appeared to lose his train of thought at times and stumbled in his responses.
On Tuesday in a press briefing, Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s debate performance after a Biden aide, who previously told Newsweek late Thursday night, that the president was battling a cold during the debate.
While Jean-Pierre continued to note that Biden is still dealing with a cold, CNN reporter MJ Lee noted Biden’s previous medical record summary, which was previously released in a six-page synopsis in February, that said he was fit to successfully execute the duties of the president, as she added that Americans today “are not seeing” that.
“You’ve said a couple of times now that the White House has provided thorough medical records for the President.I’m not sure that was a full account necessarily and Dr. O’Connor in the memo described the president as “a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.” I think that is clearly not what the majority of Americans are seeing.
In response, Jean-Pierre said the administration and Biden acknowledge his age and understand the concerns of the American people, but added that Americans support Biden’s work.
