Harry Daniels told Newsweek he thought Vice President Kamala Harris “handled it really well and was really sweet.”
A musician who has made a name for himself by serenading celebrities and public figures has gone viral after surprising Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harry Daniels, 20, has become an online sensation by sharing clips of himself singing for the likes of Katy Perry, Anne Hathaway and even President Joe Biden.
In April, the Long Island native managed to track down Harris, and he chose to use his few seconds with her to sing none other than Beyoncé.
On July 22, Daniels posted the clip, which he recorded during the weekend of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, for the first time. The video shows Daniels taking his moment as Harris walks down a corridor with her entourage.
As he belts out Beyoncé’s “Formation”, the vice president stops and stares at him. Looking surprised but smiling, she waits until he’s finished before she tells him, “Very nice to meet you”, while laughing.
When she walks away, she can be heard saying, “Who is that guy?”
The video has racked up 1.7 million likes since Daniels posted it on his @harry.daniels TikTok account.
He told Newsweek that he wanted to “rile up the K Hive”—a play on the name used for Beyoncé fans, the Beyhive.
