After her one-year suspension from the sport for excessive whipping of a horse was announced Thursday, UK dressage star Charlotte Dujardin said she will “forever aim to do better.” The International Federation for Equestrian Sports also fined Dujardin about $11,000 after its investigation, the reports. The punishment is backdated to when she withdrew from the Summer Olympics, so that Dujardin will be able to resume competing in July 2025, per the BBC. The organization cited her previous clean record as a reason for a light punishment. “As the federation has recognized, my actions in the video do not reflect who I am and I can only apologize again”, Dujardin posted online.
