Projections for Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot’s live-action version of Disney’s “Snow White” have been sliding in the weeks ahead of the film, which is opening in theaters Friday.
Based on the time-honored fairytale by the Brothers Grimm, Snow White — directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) — is a live-action remake of Walt Disney’s 1937 animated family movie classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Snow White, of course, has been the subject of several controversies over the past couple of years. Among them — as Forbes has previously detailed (see link below) – Disney caught heat casting Zegler and Peter Dinklage’s criticized the idea of using dwarf actors for the live-action update. Another controversy erupted when set photos of the “seven dwarfs” — of which only one of the actors had dwarfism — surfaced. In the completed film, the seven dwarfs are all CGI characters.
