Fans of Shedeur Sander were looking forward to watching the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, so was he drafted?
NFL hopeful Shedeur Sanders was expected to have a shot in the first round of the April 24, 2025, NFL Draft. As fans and the Sanders family waited for the quarterback’s name to be called. On the day of the draft, Sanders tweeted, “I’m built for whatever today may bring.”
Prior to getting drafted, Shedeur experienced a prank call that got his hopes up about being selected in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. The call was made by defensive coach Jeff Ulbrich’s son, Jax Ulbrich, who told him, “We’re going to take you with our next pick, man, but you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer, man. Sorry about that.”
Jax later apologized in a statement on Instagram, writing, “I’m so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish. I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and messed with that moment. Thank you for accepting my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”
