The Dr. James Dobson Family Institute announced the news of his passing.
Dr. James C. Dobson, an influential conservative Christian leader and child psychologist who advocated for traditional family values, has died at the age of 89, his family institute said.
Dobson was the founder of Focus on the Family, a Christian ministry he led from 1977, which had more than 1,000 employees at its peak and gave him a platform to weigh in on legislation, advise White House panels, and advocate against laws to ban conversion therapy to „cure“ gay people.
