Director Matt Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin’s sequel Battinson film is slated to release in October 2027.
In the wake of Superman taking over the summer, Warner Bros. is maintaining its momentum at DC Studios, announcing that Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated The Batman Part II will begin filming next spring, aiming for an October 2027 release window.
According to Variety, today’s update comes following a Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders meeting (ahead of the company’s split once more into two companies, Warner Bros. and, well, Discovery, next year), where executives lauded the financial success of James Gunn’s Superman, earning just south of $550 million worldwide and formally kickstarting a new era for the DC Universe in the realm of film and TV. In their merriment diving into money like Scrooge McDuck, Warner Bros. also gave a rundown of its queue of superhero film projects, confirming The Batman Part II‘s production update in the process.
“In film, James Gunn is busy preparing the next installments of the DC super family, including Supergirl (2026), Clayface (2026), and the next Wonder Woman,” Warner Bros.
