The Pixel 10 Pro packs Google’s best hardware and software into an elegant, compact device with standout AI features.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro (starting at $999) delivers a complete, uncompromised Google Pixel experience at a lower price point than the Pixel 10 Pro XL ($1,199). It has top-notch hardware, a beautiful screen, sharp photography, and advanced on-device AI, all built into its durable, mid-sized frame. Google’s live in-call translation and natural language image editing add a „wow“ factor unavailable from most other phones. We wish the battery lasted longer, but the Pixel 10 Pro’s elegant design, robust software, and strong value earn it our Editors‘ Choice award, making it the best Android phone for most people. However, if you want the biggest Android experience, the pricier $1,299.99 Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s humongous screen, longer battery life, superior performance, and included S Pen stylus is our Editors‘ Choice winner for flagship phones.Design: Sleek, Comfortable, and Familiar
The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL share a common design, with size being the only significant difference between them. The 10 Pro’s high-shine aluminum frame contrasts with its matte back panel, and the two materials meet in a slight curve, which improves comfort over the last generation. The front and back glass surfaces are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which resists scratches and cracking when dropped.
The Pixel 10 Pro measures 6.02 by 2.83 by 0.34 inches (HWD) and weighs 7.30 ounces. It shares its dimensions with the Pixel 10 ($799) but weighs 0.1 ounce more. The 10 Pro is smaller and lighter than the 10 Pro XL (6.41 by 3.02 by 0.33 inches, 8.18 ounces).
For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ ($999.99) is larger, but lighter (6.24 by 2.98 by 0.29 inches, 6.70 ounces), while the Apple iPhone 16 Pro ($999) is smaller and lighter (5.89 by 2.81 by 0.32 inches, 7.03 ounces).
Port and button layout is similar to its stablemates, with the power button and volume rocker on the right side and two grilles flanking the USB-C (v3.2) port on the bottom. The Pixel 10 series is IP68-rated to protect it from dust and water, just like the Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16 lines. Overall, the Pixel 10 Pro feels well-constructed with high-grade materials that help justify its price tag.
Google removed the SIM tray in US models and supports eSIM only. If your current phone has a physical SIM or an eSIM, you may have to call your wireless carrier to transfer it to the Pixel. There is no microSD card slot for storage, nor will you find a 3.5mm headphone jack. For biometrics, the Pixel 10 Pro has an under-display fingerprint sensor and facial authentication. Both are secure enough for important applications like banking and finance.
The two Pixel 10 Pro phones share a common color palette and are available in Jade, Moonstone, Obsidian, and Porcelain. We tested a Jade model, which I find to be the most fun color in the otherwise conservative lineup. Display: One of the Brightest Ever
The Pixel 10 Pro features a 6.3-inch screen at a resolution of 2,856 by 1,280 pixels, a variable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, and a brightness of up to 2,200 nits (HDR) and 3,300 nits (peak outdoor). The brightness ratings are an improvement over last year’s Pixel 9 Pro, which reached 2,000 nits (HDR) and 3,000 nits (peak), but it shares the other specs. The Pixel 10 Pro XL’s screen is larger at 6.8 inches with 2,992 by 1,344 pixels, but otherwise includes the same features. The 10 Pro’s screen is the sharpest of the Pixel 10 series at 495 pixels per inch (ppi), compared with the Pixel 10 at 422ppi and the 10 Pro XL at 486ppi.
The Pixel 10 Pro display is easy to see even on the sunniest of days, apart from the occasional glare. For example, the camera viewfinder is fully visible under the sun without needing shade, so you can always frame your shot.
For comparison, the Galaxy S25+ has a larger 6.7-inch screen with 3,120 by 1,440 pixels, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. The iPhone 16 Pro’s 6.3-inch screen has 2,622 by 1,206 pixels with a variable 120Hz refresh rate. It reaches 1,600 nits (HDR) and 2,000 nits (peak). The Pixel 10 Pro’s screen is the brightest of the bunch.Performance: The Fastest Pixel
Google’s new Tensor G5 chip is the brain behind the Pixel 10 family and is made by TSMC with the latter’s 3nm process. It’s designed from the ground up for AI.
