Apple has introduced the long-rumored iPhone Air, a model that boasts the slimmest and most durable design of any iPhone, ever.
«Design is at the core of everything we do», Apple CEO Tim Cook said to kick off the company’s September 2025 event. Underscoring that statement, Apple took the wraps off the latest models in its most successful hardware lineups, including the new iPhone 17 series with the long-rumored iPhone Air taking center stage. This marks the first time an Air model has been made available in the iPhone lineup, adding it alongside the MacBook Air and iPad Air options first launched more than a decade ago.
According to Apple, it designed the iPhone Air to «feel like a piece of the future», boasting a thickness of only 5.6 mm — making it the thinnest iPhone unveiled to date — and an overall ultra-durable design. Despite the massive reduction in size, Apple managed to pack an array of high-end features into the slim frame, promising the new model marks several «firsts» for the iPhone series as a whole — including being the most durable and efficient it has ever offered.
