Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very real and deeply intertwined with the future of networks and we at Ericsson have been building this foundation for almost a decade, with our AI hub in India leading the charge, according to a senior executive.“AI is no longer just a concept. It’s a core part of how networks are built and operated. Ericsson has been investing in AI research and development in India for nearly a decade, establishing its AI hub here almost 10 years ago,” Erik Ekudden, CTO, Ericsson, told ETTelecom in an interview.Today, we are delivering AI-powered networks spanning radio access, core, and orchestration, with SMO- and R-App-based solutions already commercialized. “AI is driving measurable benefits, including improved user experience, reduced power consumption, and enhanced operational efficiency,” he said.
