The man accused of shooting and killing beloved Oakland football coach John Beam came face-to-face with a judge for the first time.
Cedric Irving Jr. is facing felony murder and gun charges in the shooting at Laney College last Thursday.

Members of Coach Beam’s family were in court Tuesday morning,, as well as former NFL player and Oakland native Marshawn Lynch. None of them spoke to the media.
Video was not allowed in the courtroom, but still images show Irving appearing before a judge in person behind a partition.
