With its characters surrounded by new friends, in a whole new universe, the end of Deadpool & Wolverine felt like a new beginning. For Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, yes, but also Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. After putting the character to bed with 2017’s Logan, Jackman resurrected the character, physically and literally, for last year’s hit sequel. And now, in a new interview, he has continued to tease fans about what it could all mean.
“It doesn’t feel like the end,” Jackman told Cynthia Erivo as part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series. “It really felt like the end after Logan. If I look back, I really needed to claim it as the end. [The] truth [is], because I really believed in some things that I wanted that movie to be, and I had to fight for them.
