GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu has just disclosed in a new note that he expects Apple to ship 250 million iPhones in 2026, which would correspond to a year-over-year growth of 2 percent and constitute an aberration in an industry that is widely expected to hunker down amid the ongoing memory maelstrom.
Elsewhere, the analyst notes that the A20 Pro chip, which is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Fold, will feature two critical technology leaps:
WMCM Packaging
The chip entails a switch from InFO packaging to WMCM, which allows for the combination of multiple individual dies — such as the CPU, GPU, and the Neural Engine — onto a single package that then provides an unprecedented level of flexibility due to the sheer number of die configurations that become available.
