A new trailer for TellTale’s The Walking Dead Final Season highlights the relationship between Clementine and AJ, while also confirming release details and more.
For many, TellTale’s The Walking Dead is the best episodic, graphic adventure video game designed and published by the company since its initial creation back in 2012. It has been known for some time that The Final Season was set to launch sometime this year, and now alongside a new trailer, we finally know when.
This latest trailer for TellTale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season highlights the relationship between Clementine and AJ, presumably after the rumored time jump that will occur during the season. It begins with AJ singing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” while sitting on a bridge, before Clementine asks him for the rules of survival. The questioning turns serious dark pretty quickly, with Clementine asking AJ what to do if she were to be bitten.
Her question clearly connects to the first season of the episodic game where Clementine had a choice to make considering her father-figure, Lee Everett. Many expect this season to be the end of Clementine’s story and her life, so this line of questioning doesn’t bode well for her survival chances. Check out the new trailer below:
Nevertheless, fans will get to begin this journey on August 14, with pre-orders for the game going live on June 8. Notably, if pre-ordered on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, fans will immediately receive the Walking Dead Collection, which contains all three seasons and two spin-offs. Completing the game again all the way from the first season would be an interesting way to prepare for a season that seems like it will be an emotional roller coaster.
This is the first glance at the Walking Dead: The Final Season since its PAX East gameplay demo leaked where several details for the game became available. While very little is currently known about this upcoming TellTale game, fans of the series are undoubtedly excited to return to the Clementine they’ve molded over past seasons. At least we know now that the wait is dwindling quickly.
