CNN’s Jim Acosta took a swipe at President Donald Trump in the final hours before the president’s scheduled announcement of his next Supreme Court pick.
Implying that Trump might be seeking out a justice who would have his back in the event that the Mueller investigation ever bore fruit, he made sure to mention a report that “Trump’s SCOTUS team has looked at Kavanaugh’s past comments on indicting a sitting president.”
And Acosta’s tweet quickly rallied the like-minded to his side.
But others pointed out that reviewing a potential nominee’s statements and decisions is actually how the vetting process was designed to work.

Considering the fact that the Trump administration has been accused — from the beginning of its term — of a failure to properly vet appointees in a timely manner, this may be a step in the right direction.
