The successor is expected to come with new colourways including black, blue (with yellow S Pen) and also pink shades. Read to know the key features of the Galaxy Note9.
The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note9, which is slated to make the official debut on August 9, has leaked in images leaving no room for imagination on how the flagship Android phone would look like.
Popular Twitter tipster Roland Quandt has posted black and blue-hued Galaxy Note9 colour variants revealing the design elements from all angles. The upcoming comes with a dual curved display with screen cascading up to the middle of the rim on the right and left the side, while the top and the bottom base has trimmed so that most part of the front panel is covered by the functional display.
On the sides, it features volume rockers (up & down) and power button placed one above the other on the right side. In the left side, the device features a physical key, which we believe will trigger the Bixby digital assistant.
On the back, it features horizontally placed dual-camera with LED flash. Most importantly, Samsung has placed the fingerprint sensor on the camera module. It was one of the major grouse in the Galaxy Note8 among users and critics last year. It had incorporated biometric sensor right beside the camera lens and many device owners touched it leaving sweaty smudges all over it. Now, this issue is unlikely to recur in the successor.
As far as the S Pen is concerned, it comes with matching dark hue for the Black model, and for the Blue Galaxy Note9, the stylus features bright yellow shade, which is a refreshing colourway in the niche premium phone category. We have come to understand that there will be another pink coloured Galaxy Note9, but not sure about the S Pen shade. Reliable reports have indicated that the stylus will come with Bluetooth connectivity support, which will enable users to change music tracks, tune volume and many other functions.

Based on the pictures, we believe Samsung will be using a blend of metal and glass similar to Galaxy Note8, which will not only exude the glossy premium feel but adds value, as the glass will enable the device to support wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Note9 is said to come with a 6.4-inch Wide Quad High Definition (WQHD) screen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and come with more than 85% screen-to-body ratio. The company has also enhanced the sunlight readability on device’s super AMOLED display.
Depending on the region of sale, Galaxy Note8 successor will be offered in two chipset variants. Devices-bound for US, China and South Korea will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor.
On the other hand, Samsung phones headed towards India and Russia, among other global markets will house an Exynos 9820 octa-core processor.
Rest assured, both the Galaxy Note9 will offer the same level of performance and would set a new benchmark in performance among Android phones.
The company is also said to have improved ISOCELL technology for Galaxy Note9’s camera, in addition to enhanced Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and variable aperture (F1.5-F2.4) to capture high-quality pictures in low-light.
Another big improvement is that the company is upgrading the battery capacity to 4,000mah, 700mAh (21-percent) more than its predecessor, which will be enough to last a one and half day under mixed usage.
Rumour has it that the Samsung, in addition to Galaxy Note9 base variant (6GB RAM and 128GB storage), plans to bring top-end mode with 8GB RAM+256GB and 8GB RAM+512GB models in select markets, but later in the year.
