17-year-old charged with intoxication manslaughter in crash that killed 2 Atascocita H. S. students

Two 16-year-old girls, Salma Gomez and Chloe Robison, died Wednesday morning.
A 17-year-old has been charged with two counts intoxication manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed two Atascocita High School girls Wednesday morning.
Jaggar Clayton Smith was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima at a high rate of speed, according to police, in the 18300 block of Timber Forest around midnight with passengers Salma Gomez, 16, and Chloe Robison, 16.

Smith couldn’t stay in a single lane and eventually drove into the center median, causing the vehicle strike a tree and break in two, police said. The front portion of the vehicle came to rest in the median, while the rear portion struck another tree in the median.
Robison, who was sitting the back right seat, died at the scene. Gomez later died from her injuries at Memorial Hermann northeast.
Smith was taken to Houston Northwest Medical Center, where he was treated and arrested.
