“The POCOPHONE F1 is expected to flaunt a notch-toting display and draw power from the Snapdragon 845 SoC”
The POCOPHONE F1 smartphone has been the subject of numerous leaks and rumours. It’s speculated to be the first smartphone under Xiaomi’s new sub-brand POCO, which is also heading to India under the leadership of its product manager, Jai Mani. Most recently, the POCOPHONE F1 was spotted on a video running AnTuTu benchmark. Now, more live images of the handset and pictures of its retail box have surfaced on Weibo.
While the retail box isn’t completely visible, it comes in flashy yellow and black hue. One can also see a cable in the packaging, which seems like a USB-Type C cable.
As far as the live images are concerned, they show the alleged POCOPHONE F1 from all angles. One can see the handset with a tall display with a notch up top. The interface suggests that phone runs Xiaomi’s custom MIUI ROM. At the back, the smartphone can be seen sporting curved edges, dual cameras, and a fingerprint sensor. Sadly, the latest leak hasn’t divulged any new information about the POCOPHONE F1 on the specs front.
Earlier leaks have suggested that the POCOPHONE F1 will feature a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a cut-out on top, the Snapdragon 845 SoC, liquid cooling system, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For photography, the handset is likely to feature dual 12MP + 5MP cameras on the rear with LED flash and a 20MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calling. Other expected features include an IR Blaster Android Oreo-based MIUI 10, and a beefy 4,000mAh battery.
Xiaomi is yet to confirm if and when it is planning to announce the POCOPHONE F1. However, if the rumour mill is to be believed, then the phone could see the light of day in the month of October. The F1 is rumoured to retail somewhere around Rs 30,000.
