A mod for Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 4 recreates the opening of the Obsidian Entertainment-developed Fallout: New Vegas with enhanced details.
About a year ago, the mod team behind Fallout 4: New Vegas decided to take the map from the Obsidian Entertainment-developed entry and recreate it into the fourth numbered entry of Bethesda’s long-running post-apocalyptic franchise. Now, the modder collective has decided to show off some of the headway made with the mod project by releasing footage of New Vegas‘ opening with enhanced graphics and details.
As seen below in the video titled “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head”, New Vegas fans will be taken on a refresher course in the start of the game, in which Doc Mitchell–voiced by a new actor, by the way–wakes players up and guides them through customizing their character. While the scene is far from being one of the most memorable or action-packed moments of New Vegas, it does offer a glimpse at how the Fallout 4 mod will update character models.
The Fallout 4: New Vegas mod team has definitely been diligently plugging away on the project, for as previously mentioned, even though the latest footage doesn’t offer an idea of the gameplay as a whole, substantial progress has obviously been made. Even the new HUD that the team has implemented shows their care for how well the player is immersed into world, and it’s attention to details such as this that makes the conversion of New Vegas into Fallout 4 so impressive.
All things considered, Fallout fans can only keep their fingers crossed that the Fallout 4: New Vegas mod keeps progressing so well. So far, it appears as if the mod team is getting a solid amount of work done without rushing it, so things seem to be on the upswing for the project. Until it releases, though, Fallout aficionados still have plenty of other fan-made mods to check out. For instance, “Northern Springs” offers an experience bigger than both Far Harbor and Nuka World, which should help pass the time quite amply.
The Fallout 4: New Vegas mod has yet to receive an official release date.
