After having announced the Nokia 5.1 Plus last month alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus, HMD Global will be finally unveiling the price and the launch date of the mid-range smartphone later today. The all-new Nokia smartphone will be available for sale exclusively on Flipkart.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus will be sitting below the Nokia 6.1 Plus aka Nokia X6 in the Finnish brand’s ever-expanding smartphone line-up. It is expected to be priced in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 price bracket, which apparently is one of the most fiercely competitive segments in the Indian smartphone market. So, here’s a look at the top 5 smartphones which will give the Nokia 5.1 Plus a run for its money.
Huawei backed Honor sells a number of devices in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 price bracket which includes the likes of Honor 7X, Honor 9 Lite, Honor 9i among others. The Honor 9N is, however, the apt competitor of the all-new Nokia 5.1 Plus. Just like the Nokia smartphone, the Honor 9N comes with a notched display. It features an all-glass body with a gradient design, that makes it look much more premium than what its meager price tag would suggest.
Another highlighting feature of the Honor 9N is its camera setup. The smartphone features a 16MP front camera along with dual 13MP +2 MP rear cameras. Underneath the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Kirin 659 octa-core processor, and a Mali T830 MP2 GPU. The Honor 9N runs on Android Oreo 8.0 and is available for sale on both Flipkart and Amazon starting at Rs 11,999.
Oppo’s sub-brand Realme is too making it big in the Indian market. Launched earlier this year, the all-new smartphone brand made a name for itself with the launch of its debut smartphone called the Realme 1. The Chinese OEM subsequently launched an updated version of the phone a few months back, and the smartphone currently retails in India starting at Rs 8,990.
The Realme 2 features a 6.2 inch Notch Full-Screen HD+ IPS LCD display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor and comes with either 3GB or 4GB RAM. Realme 2 is being offered in two SKU variants, 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage, each of which is priced at Rs 8,990 and Rs 10,990 respectively. Furthermore, the lower mid-range smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising 13MP and 2MP sensors. It also features a triple SIM slot with dual active 4G SIMs.
Xiaomi recently launched a new budget smartphone in India in the form of its Redmi 6 Pro. It’s apparently the Indian version of the Mi A2 Lite, which went life globally alongside the Snapdragon 660 touting Mi A2.
The Redmi 6 Pro is one of the first Xiaomi smartphones to come with a notch. It features a 5.84 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display, along with a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. It comes in two SKU variants, 3GB RAM/32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. Additionally, the Redmi 6 Pro features a dual rear camera setup comprising 12MP f/2.2 primary and 5MP f/2.2 secondary sensor. It further comes with a 4,000mAH battery. The Redmi 6 Pro is priced starting at Rs 10,999.
The Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus is the latest member of the Korean maker’s J series of smartphones. It comes with a Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor that’s clubbed with an Adreno 308 GPU. Additionally, the device comes in two variants, with the base model featuring 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, whereas the top end one comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internals. Other features of the smartphone include a 6.0-inch HD+ IPS LCD display, 13MP f/1.9 rear camera, 5MP f/2.2 selfie snapper, and a non-removable 3,300mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus runs on Android Oreo and is priced starting at Rs 8,990.
The Redmi Y2 is yet another Xiaomi phone that will give the Nokia 5.1 Plus a stiff competition. It comes with 5.99-inch HD+ IPS LCD display. Just like the Redmi 6 Pro, it is powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. The rear camera unit is also similar to that of the Redmi 6 Pro. The front camera, however, is composed of a 16MP shooter. The selfie snapper is equipped with an LED flash. The Redmi Y2 comes with a moderately smaller 3,080mAh battery but is also Rs 1,000 cheaper at just Rs 9,999. The top end variant of the phone, however, cost as much as Rs 12,999.
