All That Remains rocker Oli Herbert dead at 44

“Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and song writer who defined Rock and Metal from the Northeast,” the band said in a statement.
Legendary All That Remains guitar player Oli Herbert has passed away, his band mates have confirmed.
The group released a statement revealing the tragic news on the group’s Facebook page on Wednesday.
It read: “We were devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitar player, and founding member of All That Remains, has passed away.
“Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and song writer who defined Rock and Metal from the Northeast. His impact on the genres and our lives will continue indefinitely.
“No further details are available at this time. The band and family request that you please respect their privacy and remember Oli by celebrating the great music he made.”
Fans of the heavy metal group reacted with dismay at the news.
James Hackett wrote: “Genuinely great guy for the short time I knew him and an undeniably amazing talent! Thoughts are with you guys and Olis family! RIP”
Another said: “I will never forget for a high school project I needed to interview someone who inspired me when I was learning guitar and oli gave me his personal email for a email interview when I was ready.”
Oli was one of the founding members of the group which was formed in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1998.
The group has released eight studio albums.
