Several firefighters are recovering after their trucks overturned in separate accidents that closed roads in two states.
In Henrico County, Virginia, a fire crew responding to an emergency call about an unconscious person found themselves in need of help when their fire truck overturned Sunday morning. Roads in the area were extremely slippery and snow covered, according to a post from Henrico County Division of Fire. The fire truck spun on the road, left the roadway and overturned. No other vehicles were involved. All four firefighters were able to get out of the truck — but each suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to officials. Images posted on Facebook show the yellow fire engine flipped over with the front windshield broken out. “The initial medical emergency was handled by other units responding at the same time,” a statement from Henrico County Division of Fire said.
