In addition to online gaming, cloud saves, and free games like Tetris 99 and Pac-Man 99, Nintendo Switch Online also includes access to a growing selection of retro classics. The base-level Nintendo Switch Online subscription includes access to a mix of first and third-party NES and SNES games, including Super Mario Bros, Earthbound, Super Metroid, Double Dragon, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Many games have also been updated to support online multiplayer and leaderboards. Deeper cuts include the likes of The Immortal and The Ignition Factor. In addition, subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack get access to a small – but growing – selection of Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis / Mega Drive titles. Altogether there are currently more than 140 games available across all four platforms. Some games also have SP variants that include helpful power-ups, extra lives, or late-game save states.
