The Latin Grammys, which celebrate their 25th anniversary, return to Miami after a year abroad, and include new categories.
As the Latin Grammys celebrate their 25th anniversary and a return to Miami, its hitmakers Édgar Barrera, Karol G, and Bad Bunny top the list with the most nominations.
For the second year in a row, producer and songwriter Édgar Barrera leads the group, racking up nine nominations. Last year, he was nominated for 13 awards and scored three wins. This year, nominations for his work spans major categories such as album of the year, record of the year, songwriter of the year and producer of the year and song of the year, collaborating with artists like Karol G, Shakira, and Grupo Frontera.
Close behind, superstars Karol G and Bad Bunny secured eight nominations each, with Karol G picking up one more than in 2023. Her “Mañana Será Bonito” (Bichota Season)” is up for album of the year, while Bad Bunny’s “Monaco” competes for record of the year.
This year’s best new artist category spotlights emerging talents Agris, Kevin Aguilar, Darumas, Nicolle Horbath, Latin Mafia, Cacá Magalhães, Os Garotin, Iñigo Quintero, Sofi Saar and Ela Taubert.
Two new categories will be introduced at the 2024 Latin GRAMMY Awards: Best Latin Electronic Music Performance and Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album. These additions bring the total number of categories to 58, aiming to reflect the growing diversity and influence of Latin music worldwide.
