LG has confirmed that select older TVs will soon be compatible with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect via an over-the-air software update.

LG released its modular home theater system at CES 2026, complete with the H7 soundbar, M5 and M7 wireless speakers, and W7 subwoofer. This system is the first to feature Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a Dolby technology that promises to deliver the Atmos experience, regardless of your speaker placement.
Now, LG says that specific TVs are compatible with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, while others can act as a hub for the M5, M7, and W7 without needing a soundbar.
