Moto Z2 Play Will Be Slimmer and Feature a Smaller Battery Than Its Predecessor

The smartphone will be announced later this year
But in order to achieve a slimmer device, Motorola was forced to compromise on battery capacity. Moto Z Play features a battery of 3,510mAh, while its successor is said to draw power from a 3,000mAh battery, according to VentureBeat.
Aside from this, roughly all other components will be upgraded; the processor will be upped from Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 to Snapdragon 626 SoC with octa-core 2.2GHz CPU, while RAM capacity could reach 4GB, by 1GB more compared to last year’s model. The same graphics processing unit will be found on this year’s model.
The smartphone could come with 64GB of internal memory, double the amount found on the Moto Z Play. Display size will stay the same at 5.5 inches with full HD pixel resolution. Front camera capacity stays the same at 5MP, but the device will feature a 12MP sensor on this year’s model, with f/1.7 aperture and dual-focus pixels, compared to a 16MP sensor on the Moto Z Play.
