The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office in Washington is searching for suspects who stole a purse from a Freeman High School parent’s vehicle in the wake of a deadly school shooting.
The suspects prowled the victim’s unattended car, parked in a long line of vehicles on Highway 27, after a student opened fire on four of his classmates. One died, and three were hospitalized and are expected to survive.
The thieves capitalized on parents’ worried states in a time of tragedy, stealing a woman’s purse and doing more than $36,000 worth of damage using stolen credit cards and fraudulently cashed checks.
