Dell today announced the launch of its updated XPS 13 notebook in India. The latest version of the XPS 13 is more or less identical to the previous iteration but runs on the latest 8 th Generation Intel Core processors.
The new XPS 13 features a 13.3-inch InfinityEdge display with extremely thin bezels, making it significantly smaller than other notebooks with a similar-sized display. While the base variants come with a 1920 x 1080 Full HP IPS panel, more expensive variants feature a 13.3-inch 3200 x 1800 QHD+ resolution touch-enabled panel. Powering the notebook is an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor on the base variants and an Intel Core i5-8550U processor on the top-end configurations. What seems to be a little disappointing is that Dell has downgraded the latest version in the memory and storage departments. While the previous iteration was available with up to 16GB LPDDR3 system memory and a 512GB PCIe solid state drive, the new model only packs up to 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB PCIe SSD storage. Other key features of the notebook include a backlit keyboard with fingerprint reader, Killer 1535 802.11ac dual-band wireless, Precision touchpad, HD webcam, Stereo speakers with Waves MaxxAudio Pro, and a 60Whr battery.
The updated XPS 13 is now available for purchase online via the Dell India store as well as via major offline stores such as Reliance Digital, Croma, and Dell exclusive stores. Dell says the notebook will start at Rs.84,590 in the country, although the least expensive configuration listed on the Dell India website currently costs Rs.91,990. The top-end configuration is priced at Rs.1,48,990.
