Two of the lawyers from Suge Knight’s murder case were released just one day after being arrested on charges of accessory after the fact.
Two of the lawyers who represented Suge Knight in his murder case were released just one day after they were arrested on charges for being accessories after the fact.
Matthew Fletcher and Thaddeus Culpepper were let out of jail Friday night because of the fact their “complex” case requires further review by prosecutors before any charges can be made.
They were both arrested on warrants Thursday that alleged they were accessories to a felony after the fact, but it was not clear what they are believed to have done — or what felony they could have been involved with.
The Los Angeles Times reported in August that the two lawyers had tried to bribe witnesses and the alleged conversations were recorded with transcriptions being presented in court.

One month later, both Fletcher and Culpepper were suddently replaced by different representation.
Arrested for accessory is defined in California law as “harboring, concealing or aiding a person whom you know has committed a felony, in order to protect him or her from arrest, trial, conviction and/or sentencing.”
Fletcher, 53, and Culpepper were among the many attorneys who have reprsented Knight, the Death Row Records co-founder, who was charged with murder and attempted murder in 2015.
The producer is accused of killing Terry Carter after he drove him into the parking lot of a burger stand in Compton after they engaged in an argument on the set of “Straight Outta Compton.”
