The Bombers inked the veteran to a minor-league deal on Friday.
“Great opportunity, it’s the right situation for myself,” Lind said. He said he had one other minor-league offer, but elected to join the Yankees.

Lind, 34, has split his time in the majors between the outfield and first base, but Yankees GM Brian Cashman is only interested in him playing at first.

Lind, who can opt out of the deal later in spring training, has a career .272 average with 200 homers and 723 RBI.
