The couple had been going through a nasty divorce, according to the woman’s brother-in-law.
A Rochester Hills man fatally shot his wife Monday and then walked into a police station and confessed, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
A man called authorities at about 10 a.m. after finding his sister-in-law dead on a couch at a home on the 3400 block of Emmons Avenue, near South Boulevard and Dequindre, authorities said. The caller said the woman, 41, and her husband had been going through a bad divorce. Deputies canvassed the area looking for witnesses.
When detectives were at the scene, the woman’s 39-year-old husband walked into the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office substation in Rochester Hills and told the front desk deputy that he just killed his wife, according to the sheriff’s office. He was arrested without incident.
An autopsy has been scheduled. The investigation continues.
