One Piece: 7 Characters That Are Pirate King Material

0

Luffy will be the Pirate King, but he isn’t the only one with such potential in One Piece.
The Pirate King is the most prestigious title that any pirate can hold in One Piece. As the name implies, the Pirate King is the person who conquers all the seas and goes on to find the One Piece. The Pirate King is also the strongest in the world, though it is not necessary for the strongest to be called the Pirate King, given that one would have to circumnavigate the entire globe and find the One Piece to claim the title.
So far, only the captain of the Roger Pirates, Gol D. Roger, has held this incredible title. However, there are many individuals in One Piece who are deserving of being called the Pirate King as well. In the future of One Piece, fans will likely see someone emerge and take this title.
Eustass Kid

Pirate Crew: Kid Pirates

Devil Fruit: Jiki Jiki no Mi

Haki: All Three

Eustass Kid is an individual with the makings of a king. This isn’t much of a surprise to the fans, given that he has access to the power of Conqueror’s Haki. Kid is a very determined individual, and he has gone head-to-head against multiple Yonko during his career as a pirate.
Kid even played a massive role in defeating Big Mom, and that just goes to show his strength. However, he was recently crushed by Shanks, which means Kid still has some more training to do before he ascends to the next level. Despite being destroyed, one cannot count Kid out completely and he will likely continue his quest for the One Piece soon enough.
Trafalgar Law

Pirate Crew: Heart Pirates

Devil Fruit: Ope Ope no Mi

Haki: Armament, Observation

Trafalgar Law is another member of the Worst Generation, and certainly one of the strongest in the new era. After the events of Wano, he was given a 3 billion Berry bounty, and fans know for a fact that he is one of the strongest of the new era.
Law aims to get to the Final Island and claim the One Piece as well, even though he isn’t all that interested in the treasure, and his main concern is surrounding the Checkered Fate of the D. Law is tremendously powerful, thanks to the usage of his Ope Ope no Mi. Law might not have Conqueror’s Haki, but he possesses control over Haki in general. It isn’t out of the question for law to gain Conqueror’s Haki haki in the future. Regardless, he is an individual worthy of earning the title of the Pirate King if he continues to grow like he is right now.
Buggy

Pirate Crew: Cross Guild

Devil Fruit: Bara Bara no Mi

Haki: None

Buggy is an individual who has continued to fail upwards in One Piece. While one might discredit him due to being very weak, Buggy actually has a lot of ambition and determination. In fact, his ambition is greater than both Dracule Mihawk and Crocodile, which was showcased recently in the series. He truly believes he can go on to become the Pirate King and steal the treasure from under the noses of the other Yonko.
To some extent, Buggy is looking to rival Shanks and beat him to the One Piece. This is certainly an individual who deserves the title, despite not being as strong, and fans will be interested to see how he progresses over the next few years when the Cross Guild takes the center stage in One Piece.
Boa Hancock

Pirate Crew: Kuja Pirates

Devil Fruit: Mero Mero no Mi

Haki: All Three Types

The Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock is one of the strongest individuals in One Piece. After the fall of Big Mom, she is certainly the strongest female pirate that fans know. Hancock is a user of all the Haki types, which means she has the disposition of a King. At the same time, fans also know that she possesses one of the most overpowered Devil Fruit abilities in One Piece, and that is the Mero Mero no Mi.
Using this power, she can petrify just about anyone, and this power is so unique that even Blackbeard wanted it for himself. Hancock has a 1.659 billion berry bounty right now, and it is highly likely that this bounty will continue to grow later down the line.
Shanks

Pirate Crew: Red Hair Pirates

Devil Fruit: None

Haki: All Three Types

The red-haired Emperor, Shanks is Roger’s very own apprentice and it doesn’t take much to see why he is Pirate King material. He is one of the strongest individuals in One Piece, with Haki that rivals the likes of Joy Boy himself.
His strength is such that he could one-shot both Kid and Killer at the same time. He is on an entirely different level right now, and fans will most definitely get to see more of him later down the line. Right now, he is actively hunting down the One Piece.
Blackbeard

Pirate Crew: Blackbeard Pirates

Devil Fruit: Yami Yami no Mi, Gura Gura no Mi

Haki: Armament, Observation

Blackbeard is one of the most important characters in the story right now, and a big antagonist for Luffy to take down as well. Blackbeard aims to become the King of the entire world, which means his ambition actually goes beyond Pirate King.
Fans will most definitely get to see more of him later down the line. Right now, he is on the path to attaining the One Piece, and fans will surely keep a close eye on him over the next few years.
Monkey D. Luffy

Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates

Devil Fruit: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika

Haki: All Three Types

Of course, the protagonist of the series, Luffy is the man who will most definitely get to become the Pirate King. His strength certainly is enough to see him take this title for himself, as is his personality and his infamy in the One Piece world.
Luffy is a pirate unlike any other, and fans will most definitely get to see him reach the next level in the Final Saga. He is already worthy of this title and he will attain it to fulfill Joy Boy’s promise in the process.

15 Of The Biggest Private Car Collections In The World

0

Plenty of celebrities and rich people drive nice, expensive cars, but a rare few own truly magnificent car collections valued in the tens of millions or more.
For most enthusiasts, an attainable car collection remains in the single digits, perhaps consisting of a daily driver, an SUV, and a weekend car, if you’re lucky. Travel to the nicer part of town and someone’s car collection might be a little more ambitious. Perhaps now there are two daily drivers, and a track car to supplement the weekend car. Anything beyond that is the stuff of dreams. Double, or even triple digit car collections usually only exist behind the red ropes of a museum exhibit, while you fiddle with a paper wristband and read facts you already knew from a plaque.
But for a very lucky few, these museum-like collections constitute personal fleets. Staffed garages, battery cords, rooms full of keys, and supercars packed with a tightness to rival canned sardines are a reality for a select few car collectors. This club comes from all sorts of different backgrounds, from chefs, CEOs, bankers, boxers, and comedians, but all share a passion for cars. Here are 15 of the biggest private car collections in the world.Rowan Atkinson’s car collection
Rowan Atkinson is most recognized for his role as the ever-bumbling and hilarious Mr. Bean, but off the silver screen, Atkinson is a very serious and deliberate car collector. His collection is estimated to be valued around $15 million, has a unique spread of cars, and many that come from British automakers. He also owns cars like a 1989 Lancia Delta HF Intergrale, and a 1993 Mercedes 500e, cars that seem restrained when compared to others that live in his garage.
One such car is his Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead, a roofless two door coupe inspired by racing yachts, and fitted with an experimental V16 engine. The star of his collection though, is his McLaren F1. Although he sold it in 2015, he famously bought it in 1997 after the success of the first Mr. Bean movie. He also famously crashed it twice, and received Britain’s largest ever insurance payout to repair it, about £910,000 (around $1.2 million).Gerard Lopez’s car collection
Becoming rich enough to own a triple-digit car collection isn’t an easy task. Most paths to that kind of money involve copious amounts of white collar pomp and words like mergers and acquisitions. In the case of Gerard Lopez however, it involved words like Renault, and names like Kimi Räikkönen. The co-founder of international investment management firm Genii Capital, Lopez commandeered the purchase of the Renault F1 team in 2009.
Unlike many of the suits behind F1 teams though, Lopez is a car enthusiast through and through. In 2012, Lopez had about 85 cars in his collection, and one can only guess he has acquired a few more since then. Lancias, BMWs, Ferraris, Lamborghinis (including the Urus’s predecessor, the LM002), Lopez has them all and the best part is his refusal to allow any to become garage queens. In an interview with Top Gear, he expressed how he actually enjoys the cars he buys, rather than just considering them for their monetary value. As if any further evidence was needed for Lopez’s authenticity, at the time of the interview his holy grail car was a 1983 Golf GTI, although it’s hard not to wonder if that’s only because he already owns every other dream car.Gordon Ramsay’s car collection
If you picture a person with a multimillion dollar car collection, you might think of a hedge fund manager, a racing team owner, a monarch, a popstar, or a dictator. A chef is not typically what comes to mind, but Gordon Ramsay’s private collection would say otherwise. Ramsay’s abilities in the kitchen led him to head chef positions, which tumbled into restaurant ownership, and spiraled into becoming a globally recognized culinary TV personality.
This incredible success no doubt came with incredible paychecks, as Ramsay is now the proud owner of a 94-car portfolio estimated to be worth around $16 million. Ramsay’s collection is heavily focused on supercars and hypercars ranging from entry level cars like a 2001 Aston Martin DB7, to hyper-exclusive status symbols like the windshield-lacking Ferrari SP2 from the brand’s Icona series. Ramsay sometimes includes his cars in his cooking too with cheeky stunts like heating a grilled cheese on the hot V12 of his Aston Martin Valkyrie.Floyd Mayweather’s car collection
Not many are willing to participate in a sport where you’re expect to bleed. For those that make it to the upper echelons of boxing, fame and money become substantial compensation for the blood and sweat left in the ring. Floyd “Money” Mayweather is part of the exclusive club of boxers with a perfect record of 50 wins and no losses. This incredible feat has brought Mayweather and his team, which he calls “The Money Team”, lots and lots of cash.
Leaving the sport with zero losses is valid cause for gloating, and Mayweather’s 100-car collection manages that task perfectly, with most of his models being the cream of the crop of performance and luxury. Some highlights include the Aston Martin One-77, a limited edition halo car with a 7.3 liter V12 and a 220 mph top speed. The king of his collection though, is the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita. Mayweather owns half of the world’s supply of CCXR Trevitas, given only two were made, making this 1,018 hp silver carbon adorned Swedish superstar the top dog of his $40 million fleet.Jay Leno’s garage
Where some collectors wish to keep their treasure chests behind lock and key, Jay Leno decides to share his with the world. The comedian and former late-night TV host traded his suit and desk for a steering wheel and jeans with his 3.9 million subscriber YouTube channel, Jay Leno’s garage where he shares the always interesting, and often expensive pieces of his automotive collection.
Although a collection this big is subject to constant change, you can expect his key count to be somewhere around 180, estimated to be worth around $52 million in total. Although we may not be able to drive them, almost all of his cars are featured on the YouTube channel. A true enthusiast himself, Leno covers cars of all different backgrounds. In one video he may be discussing a pre-war American firetruck powered by a V12, and in the next, he may be inaudible behind the wheel of the super light, open-cockpit BAC Mono. The variety is what makes this collection, and thanks to its accessibility online, thousands of other enthusiasts get to enjoy the collection along with Leno.Ralph Lauren’s car collection
For gearheads, a horse in a logo conjures brands like Ferrari and Porsche, but for fashionistas, it a different one entirely: Polo Ralph Lauren. Whether you’ve seen it on a teenager’s monogram sweatpants, or on the chest of an accountant’s sweater, the Ralph Lauren horse is everywhere, and the man behind it all loves cars just as much as he loves clothes.
Although a Ralph Lauren suit may be tastefully understated, his car collection is what one might call tastefully loud. With a head count of over 70 cars and its value estimated to be somewhere around $700 million, Lauren’s collection exists in a fictional dreamland for many car enthusiasts. Everything from his Mercedes-Benz SSK to his McLaren F1 LM is kept to museum-level beauty standards, and each car is well-maintained and accessible for Lauren to drive each and every one as he pleases. Highlights come from all pages of the history books like the modern, fighter jet-inspired Lamborghini Reventon, or the McQueen level cool Jaguar XKD.Nick Mason’s car collection
If you want a glimpse of what the rockstar life is all about, Nick Mason, the legendary drummer of Pink Floyd, wouldn’t be a bad person to ask. The rest of us will have to just imagine the fame, illegal substances, leather jackets, and of course, nice cars. Mason has proven that last bit to be fact, with his fleet of cars that matches or even rivals his fame.
Mason’s collection skips all the fluff, and goes straight to the platinum hits of the car world. Names like Bugatti, Aston Martin, and Maserati frequent his collection, but judging by how often Ferrari comes up in his estimated 40 car collection, it’s safe to assume he has a favorite. It’s also safe to assume this, because he owns the end-all-be-all Ferrari. The car in question is not the F40, or the LaFerrari, even though he owns both, but the 1962 250 GTO, of which 36 were ever built. Today, this car alone is estimated to be worth around $50 million.Jerry Seinfeld’s Porsche fleet
Whether you’ve seen it or not, most people know “Seinfeld.” When you’re the star of one of the most successful and influential sitcoms of all time, people can expect you’ve got some money in your pocket. What they might not expect however, is what you spend it on, which in Jerry Seinfeld’s case, is Porsches. For anyone who thought the German brand only makes 911s, Seinfeld’s approximately 150 car collection helps to prove the contrary.
Although his collection does include a rainbow of 911 variations, the real meat of it goes beyond Porsche’s bread and butter sports car. Seinfeld owns an untouched 1949 356, the first model Porsche ever made, and the car that pioneered what would become the defining characteristics of the 911 family. His model, chassis 008 comes in the famous sky blue and orange Gulf livery. Seinfeld also owns the Porsche 959, a car that seemed to time travel from the future for its 1986 premiere thanks to all the new tech it featured. Ken Lingenfelter’s car collection
The car bug can come from anywhere, but for Ken Lingenfelter it was hereditary. The son of an executive at General Motors, Lingenfelter was around cars all his life. His exposure became the basis of his interest, until one day in 1977, when Lingenfelter bought a Chevrolet Corvette. After this initial purchase, Lingenfelter invested himself in the business of speed when he bought Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, a brand founded by a relative that specialized in automotive tuning and performance upgrades.
Now, Lingenfelter owns 250 cars. Much of his collection is made up of the cars that kickstarted his passion — Corvettes and other GM offerings — but his taste certainly includes more variety, with European exotics as well. Two of these exotics come in the form of a Ferrari F40 and a 288 GTO, the latter of which Lingenfelter apparently prefers, for its more usable character as opposed to the F40’s purebred racing nature. Despite having the keys to nearly any car he wants, Lingenfelter has stayed true to his first love, as he says he daily drives a C8 Corvette ZR1.Roger Dudding’s car collection
One may not imagine the self storage business to lend itself to a particularly glamorous life, but English businessman Roger Dudding proves otherwise. In the 1970s, the man known as Mr. Lockup bought up a huge chunk of the United Kingdom’s self storage units — thousands of them — and has since amassed tremendous wealth from the rent he’s collected on them. With that wealth, he began a private car collection that is now home to 420 cars and counting.
Dudding developed an interest in cars from a young age, after falling for his father’s 1952 Morris Minor, an origin story which has heavily influenced his portfolio of cars. His collection consists of mostly classics with Dudding showing a particular affinity to Aston Martins as any proud Brit would. Dudding didn’t settle for any old Aston though, as he is the owner of 24 Aston Martin Lagondas — a four-door performance sedan that is now looked back on as a black sheep of the Aston Martin lineup, but a desirable car nonetheless. The Redbull heir’s Formula One collection
If there’s anyone you can expect to have a collection of Formula One cars, former Formula One President Bernie Ecclestone wouldn’t be a bad guess. However, this year, Ecclestone sold his entire collection to another person who knows a thing or two about Formula One. Enter Mark Mateschitz, son of Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz and heir to the Redbull empire. Along with Mercedes, the Red Bull Formula One team has dominated in the modern day, so you can expect Mateschitz is particularly fond of this sport and its history.
Valued somewhere around $650 million, Mateschitz’s new collection of open-wheel racers most heavily features cars from Ferrari. These cars are not only mechanical marvels for engineers to drool at, they also carry the stories of the famous racers who piloted them. One such car is Michael Schumacher’s F2002, which he drove into the history books in the 2002 F1 season by winning 11 Grand Prix’s and his fifth Driver’s Championship title. Another example would be the weird and wonderful Brabham BT46B, famous for its downforce-generating fan apparatus, which helped it produce its one and only win at the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix with Nikki Lauda at the helm.Khalid Abdul Rahim’s car collection
In the Persian Gulf, the island nation of Bahrain sits off the coast of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Widely known in the car world for being the home of the Bahrain Grand Prix, Bahrain is also home to Khalid Abdul Rahim and his $116 million car collection. Rahim made his fortune as the head of the KAR Group, a business with a portfolio that includes some of the largest construction firms, properties, and engineering companies in and around Bahrain.
Rahim’s collection is star studded, with some of the most exclusive and expensive cars in the world. Cars that would be the highlight of other collections sit at lower rungs in Rahim’s, like his Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1. Moving up the food chain, Rahim owns the legendary Porsche GT1, a somehow street legal race car for the road cooked up by the German brand in 1997. He also owns one of the 20 Lamborghini Reventon coupes in the world, which truly lives up to the fighter jet comparison Lamborghinis often get (the project was inspired by the F-22 Raptor).Mukesh Ambani’s car collection
What happens when you put together a portfolio of construction and development companies, media producers, and financial firms? You get $125 billion in revenue and a conglomerate called Reliance Industries. And when you are the chairman of said conglomerate, you get to start a 168-car $30 million dollar automotive collection. There’s no beating around the bush, Mukesh Ambani is India’s richest man, and he is also the owner of one of the most extravagant car collections in the world.
Although Ambani has more performance cars than most could dream of, like his Ferrari 488 GTB or Lamborghini Aventador S, his main interest is centered on luxury cars. These aren’t your typical luxury cars either, as it seems your standard S Class or Phantom just won’t do. Ambani has the true gems, like the ultra rare Rolls Royce Drophead Coupe, or the Mercedes Maybach 62, one of the two original comeback models of the Maybach brand after its 2002 revival. He also owns multiple bulletproof luxury sedans like his armoured BMW 760 Li, or his Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard. The Rainbow Sheikh’s car pyramid
When you are literal royalty, it must feel almost mandatory to have a car collection. Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, commonly called the Rainbow Sheikh for his order of seven Mercedes S Classes in seven different colors, is a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, and the owner of not only one of the world’s most insane car collections, but possibly the most absurd way of displaying them. Simply put, the Rainbow Sheikh keeps his cars in a pyramid.
The Rainbow Sheikh is not your usual hypercar collector. He seems to have a thing for big cars, but we don’t mean a G Wagen. We’re talking about something like a Hummer H1 that’s two stories tall, or the Dhabiyan, a 35-foot-tall 10-wheeled Frankensteinian SUV-semi-truck creation. And these aren’t even the biggest creations in the pyramid. That superlative goes to his Dodge Power Wagon, which is 50 feet tall and weighs 50 tons, and whose interior sports not a steering wheel but a bedroom. In a collection culture of Bugattis and Koenigseggs, one has to respect the Rainbow Sheikh’s radically different taste preferences.Sultan of Brunei’s car collection
Although all of these collections are the stuff of dreams for most car enthusiasts, there is one clear king. On October 5, 1967 at just 21 years old, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ascended the throne and became Sultan of the island nation of Brunei. All previously mentioned collections pale in comparison to the Sultan’s 7,000 strong collection, estimated to be worth around $5 billion.
Excess doesn’t even begin to describe this treasure chest. There are some familiar names, like the Ferrari F40 or the McLaren F1, but they are just a piece of the puzzle here — the Sultan owns eight of each. There’s the ultra rare Ferrari F90, a unique model commissioned by the Sultan of which only six were made. There’s a Bentley Dominator, the spiritual predecessor to the Bentayga, as well as Jaguar XJ220s, Bugatti EB110s, and so many more. You could write whole books about this collection given the 7,000 car count, but the effort would be almost futile. In short, this is the end-all-be-all of private car collections.

How To Open The Paint Cages In Verso's Drafts In Clair Obscur Expedition 33

0

Paint Cage in Verso’s Drafts are worth opening as it rewards Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players with precious items.
A lot of mini-puzzles are scattered in the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 canvas, and one of the recurring ones is the Paint Cage. Paint Cages in Expedition 33 typically hold valuable loot, and they can be opened by shooting the cage’s “locks”, which usually look like a glowing ball.
However, following the childhood theme of Verso’s Drafts, the appearance of the Paint Cage there is altered to look like a pink bubble, whereas the locks are fun balloons, instead of a glum glowing rock. Here’s where players can find Verso’s Drafts Paint Cages and how to open them in Expedition 33.
Verso’s Drafts Paint Cage #1 In Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The first Paint Cage in Verso’s Drafts is located near the cake door in Expedition 33. Go straight ahead and find a fallen branch behind the rock.
Walk under the branch to find the first pink bubble, which is a Paint Cage in Verso’s Drafts.
You can easily see the first two balloons you need to pop.
The third one is afar, on the large purple tree, under the tree house.
Pop all the balloons to claim a Chroma Elixir Shard.
Verso’s Drafts Paint Cage #2 In Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Return to the Reverie Path expedition flag, and move in the same direction as the cake door location.
However, instead of going to the door, turn right when there’s a little lake filled with Gestrals playing.
Keep walking past the pond until you see a slope going up. The second Paint Cage in Verso’s Drafts is located behind the Esquie statue that holds a red candy.
The first balloon to open this Paint Cage is held by the Esquie statue that’s guarding the passageway.
The second key is right above the Paint Cage.
The final balloon is on the opposite side from the balloon-holding Esquie statue.
Pop all the balloons to claim the Esquim weapon for Lune in Expedition 33. It would be level 29 by default, has a Dark element, and scales with Agility (A) and Defense (B). It has the following effects:
Level 4: Using a Skill that doesn’t consume Stains increases damage by 20%. Resets on using a Skill that consumes Stains.

Level 10: Base attack changes all current Stains into Dark Stains.

Level 20: With 4 active Dark Stains, any Skill can consume them to deal 300% more damage.

Belarus frees Nobel Peace Prize laureate, opposition leader, other political prisoners

0

Belarusian authorities on Saturday freed Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski, key opposition figure Maria Kolesnikova and other prominent political prisoners, a human rights group confirmed.
Belarusian authorities on Saturday freed Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski, key opposition figure Maria Kolesnikova and other prominent political prisoners, a human rights group confirmed.
Their release comes as authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko seeks to improve relations with Washington.
The US earlier on Saturday announced lifting sanctions on the country’s potash sector. In exchange, Lukashenko pardoned a total of 123 prisoners, the Belta state news agency reported.
A close ally of Russia, Minsk has faced Western isolation and sanctions for years. Lukashenko has ruled the nation of 9.5 million with an iron fist for more than three decades, and the country has been repeatedly sanctioned by Western countries both for its crackdown on human rights and for allowing Moscow to use its territory in the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Belarus has released hundreds of prisoners since July 2024.
John Coale, the US special envoy for Belarus, announced the lifting of sanctions on potash after meeting Lukashenko in Minsk on Friday and Saturday.
Speaking with journalists, Coale described the two-day talks as “very productive,” Belarus’ state news agency Belta reported Saturday. He said that normalizing relations between Washington and Minsk was “our goal.”
“We’re lifting sanctions, releasing prisoners. We’re constantly talking to each other,” he said, according to Belta. He also said that the relationship between the countries was moving from “baby steps to more confident steps” as they increased dialogue.Bialiatski and Kolesnikova among those released
Pavel Sapelka, an advocate with the Viastan rights group, confirmed to The Associated Press that Bialiatski and Kolesnikova were released from prison.
Human rights advocate Bialiatski won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022, along with the prominent Russian rights group Memorial and Ukraine’s Center for Civil Liberties.
Bialiatski, awarded the prize while in jail awaiting trial, was later convicted of smuggling as well as financing actions that violate public order — charges widely denounced as politically motivated — and sentenced to 10 years in 2023.
Kolesnikova was a key figure in the mass protests that rocked Belarus in 2020, and is a close ally of an opposition leader in exile, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Kolesnikova, known for her close-cropped hair and trademark gesture of forming a heart with her hands, became an even greater symbol of resistance when Belarusian authorities tried to deport her in September 2020. Driven to the Ukrainian border, she briefly broke away from security forces at the frontier, tore up her passport and walked back into Belarus.
The 43-year-old professional flautist was convicted in 2021 on charges including conspiracy to seize power and sentenced to 11 years in prison.Others who were freed
Others who were released, according to Viasna, include Viktar Babaryka — an opposition figure who had sought to challenge Lukashenko in the 2020 presidential election, widely seen as rigged, before being convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison on charges he rejected as political.
Viasna said that the group’s imprisoned advocates, Valiantsin Stefanovic and Uladzimir Labkovich, and prominent opposition figure Maxim Znak, were released as well.
Most of them were brought into Ukraine, Franak Viachorka, Tsikhanouskaya’s senior adviser, told the AP.
“I think Lukashenko decided to deport people to Ukraine to show that he is in control of the situation,” Viachorka said.
Eight or nine others, including Bialiatski, will be brought to Lithuania on Saturday, and more prisoners will be taken to Lithuania in the next few days, Viachorka said.
Ukrainian authorities confirmed that Belarus handed over 114 civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said five of them were Ukrainian nationals.Lukashenko wants a rapprochement with the West
The last time US officials met with Lukashenko in September 2025, Washington announced easing some of the sanctions against Belarus while Mink released more than 50 political prisoners into Lithuania. With that September release, the number of prisoners freed by Belarus since July 2024 exceeded 430, in what was widely seen as an effort at a rapprochement with the West.
“The freeing of political prisoners means that Lukashenko understands the pain of Western sanctions and is seeking to ease them,” Tsikhanouskaya told the AP on Saturday.
She added: “But let’s not be naive: Lukashenko hasn’t changed his policies, his crackdown continues and he keeps on supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine. That’s why we need to be extremely cautious with any talk of sanctions relief, so that we don’t reinforce Russia’s war machine and encourage continued repressions.”
Tsikhnouskaya also described European Union sanctions against Belarusian potash fertilizers as far more painful for Minsk that those imposed by the U.S, saying that while easing US sanctions could lead to the release of political prisoners, European sanctions should push for long-term, systemic changes in Belarus and the end of Russia’s war in Ukraine.Sanctions have hit the key Belarus export hard
Belarus, which previously accounted for about 20% of global potash fertilizer exports, has faced sharply reduced shipments since Western sanctions targeted state producer Belaruskali and cut off transit through Lithuania’s Klaipeda port, the country’s main export route.
“Sanctions by the US, EU and their allies have significantly weakened Belarus’s potash industry, depriving the country of a key source of foreign exchange earnings and access to key markets,” Anastasiya Luzgina, an analyst at the Belarusian Economic Research Center BEROC, told AP.
“Minsk hopes that lifting US sanctions on potash will pave the way for easing more painful European sanctions; at the very least, US actions will allow discussions to begin,” she said.
The latest round of US-Belarus talks also touched on Venezuela, as well as Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Belta reported.
Coale told reporters that Lukashenko had given “good advice” on how to address the Ukraine war, saying that Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin were “longtime friends” with “the necessary level of relationship to discuss such issues.”
“Naturally, President Putin may accept some advice and not others,” Coale said.

How To Run Your First 5K With Help From Your Apple Watch

0

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner, and if one of your resolutions is to get in better shape, your Apple Watch can be a huge help.
2025 is wrapping up, which means it’s time to check in on your life goals and start building new habits. If in 2026 you want to be part of an ever-growing trend of runners, the Apple Watch can be a valuable partner, and could even help you as you prepare to run your first 5K.
It’s worth noting that you don’t need the brand new Apple Watch Series 11 or Apple Watch Ultra 3 to start getting ready to run your first 5K. Whether you already have an Apple Watch or you just bought yourself a new one during Black Friday, virtually any model of the popular smartwatch can help you practice for and one day complete your first 5K run.
While many of these features weren’t available at the time I started running, new Apple Watch users can take advantage of a free trial of Apple Fitness+, Apple’s premium fitness service. Among the features offered by the service, Apple Watch users can find Time to Walk and Time to Run experiences, and these are the best ways to get in shape for your first 5K.Time to Run is a key motivation tool
When you go to the Workouts app on your Apple Watch, you can find these Apple Fitness+ programs. The Time to Walk program is a nice way to get you moving, allowing you to go for walks with global personalities, such as Malala Yousafzai and Prince William, and as you walk, they share details about their lives, about things they like to do –- even showing you photos on your Apple Watch –- and even what they listen to.
Once you get yourself motivated with the Time to Walk program, you should move on to the Time to Run option. There, you’ll join Apple Fitness+ coaches on runs around famous cities of the world. One of my favorite episodes is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the coach runs through the city’s most famous beaches, such as Leblon, Copacabana, and Ipanema.
Not only does the program guide you through different stretches of hard effort and rest, but you also have time to warm up and cool down, while almost feeling immersed in the city the coach is in. Another suggestion is to track your effort through Gentler Streak, as the app will let you know when you’re at your limit. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to run a 5K, grab your watch and start training today.

These shortcuts streamline minor annoyances that come from handling repetitive work manually, and can save a surprising amount of time.
Many users of Apple devices fall into a routine and use them the exact same way every day, never caring to explore the lesser-known iPhone tricks. However, every now and then, we come across a feature on our devices that makes us wonder how long it’s been there, and iOS Shortcuts are a perfect example. They offer helpful automations that most users don’t even realize they need in their daily lives. What makes iOS Shortcuts worth exploring is the small conveniences they bring to everyday tasks, like using a shortcut to capture ideas before you forget them.
Most of these shortcuts streamline minor annoyances that come from handling repetitive work manually. They can save a surprising amount of time. Apple offers a built-in gallery of shortcuts, but many are simple and only offer basic automation. Thankfully, the iOS community is incredibly active with automation enthusiasts who create unique shortcuts. We’ve handpicked a selection of the most useful ones for this list. To begin with, the first shortcut solves a problem most of us face.Brainsaver
We have all been there in a situation where we wanted to use Instagram or any other social media app only for a couple of minutes, but suddenly an hour has disappeared from our day. To help with this, there is a shortcut called Brainsaver that keeps your scrolling in check. It automatically forces you out of apps you usually doomscroll on. Using this shortcut can give you a bit of control over your screen time. To get started, you can select which apps you want it to work on and set your preferred time limit for scrolling.
If your Focus mode is set to Sleep, the shortcut sends you a notification with custom text you can edit in the shortcut settings. Then, it immediately takes you back to the home screen. During other Focus modes, the shortcut allows you only your preferred time limit for scrolling. When that timer ends, it will interrupt you by closing the app. After you try this shortcut, you will realize how often your attention shifts away while checking your phone. It’s especially useful when you pick up your device for a specific task and end up scrolling through a feed instead.Save Parking Spot
At times, it can be quite frustrating to find the car when you park it somewhere in a rush and don’t have time to memorize the location. Thankfully, the Save Parking Spot shortcut can help us deal with this specific issue. It logs your car’s location as soon as you disconnect from your car’s Bluetooth or Apple CarPlay. After this, the shortcut also sends you a notification with a map link. To get it working, you need to edit the home address field inside the shortcut.
Then, the shortcut won’t bother you with unnecessary notifications when you’re parking in your own driveway or garage. It can be especially helpful on days when you park your car in an unusual spot or head straight into work and forget to look around. Overall, this shortcut takes a small but annoying problem off your plate. When your day is already packed, having something this simple takes a bit of the burden off you.iOS-ShareEasy
Transferring anything from an iPhone to a Windows device often feels like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube in the dark. It is difficult compared to the simplicity of using AirDrop, especially with Apple’s recent push to make it more private in iOS 26.2. The iOS-ShareEasy shortcut can make this process easier by providing a similar convenience to Windows users. It can let you send your clipboard, photos, videos, or documents directly from your iPhone to your Windows device. Even more convenient is that the shortcut transfers files over your local network without relying on any other services. Getting it to work only takes a few simple steps. First, you need to install the open-source Windows server from GitHub.
After installing it, add the shortcut to your device, and replace the default URL with the one displayed on your PC by finding the “Text” variable at the beginning of the shortcut settings. You can even assign the shortcut to your Action Button, which has some great uses on the iPhone. Additionally, it appears in the share menu so that you can easily transfer files from there as well. The only concern is that this shortcut relies on your PC’s IP address. For instance, if that changes, you’ll need to update the URL in the shortcut settings every time it does. Thankfully, you can avoid this by assigning your PC a static IP address in your router settings. Expense Manager
It’s easy to lose track of money when we don’t give much attention to where we’re spending it. We all tell ourselves that we’ll start tracking expenses properly. However, the motivation instantly disappears after opening a spreadsheet. An easier alternative is the Expense Manager shortcut, which provides a tracking system inside the Notes app. From a usability standpoint, it’s relatively easy, not requiring you to switch between different apps or deal with complex templates. Each new expense you create becomes a dedicated note, and every cost you add follows the same pattern.
You only need to write the name of the item, add the “=” sign, and type the amount, because the shortcut uses that format to calculate totals and averages. Furthermore, you can organize multiple expenses into folders, such as one for personal expenses and another for savings. The shortcut also allows you to share expenses with your contacts. Thanks to its integration with Notes, everything is easy to edit and update. This shortcut can make expense tracking something most of us would stick with. It can also serve as a good starting point for managing your spending without overcomplicating it.Reminders Random Draw
A long reminder list can feel overwhelming because the huge number of tasks on it can make your brain freeze. It’s easy to sit there without knowing where to begin, and picking the first task can take longer than actually completing it. With this in mind, the Reminders Random Draw shortcut has been created to choose one for you by selecting a random incomplete reminder. It helps make long to-do lists manageable. You won’t have to sit there wondering what to do first. Once the shortcut is downloaded, you can even add it to your home screen.
Using it is pretty straightforward. With only a single tap, it gives you a task to complete right away from your list. It even resurfaces old reminders you may have forgotten about. This shortcut can relieve the stress of choosing where to start on days when your mind feels too tired to even pick a task. If you’re looking for more ways to make everyday tasks easier, there are a few free iPhone apps for productivity.MedLog
Keeping track of your medications is challenging. It’s hard to remember on busy days whether you’ve already taken a medicine or not. The MedLog shortcut solves this problem by remembering every detail for you. In simple words, it takes the stress out of medication tracking. The shortcut keeps a record of each medication. It tracks when the last dose was taken. You’ll also see how often you need to take it and the amount required. This way, you don’t have to remember all those details in your head.
Everything is stored in iCloud as well, so the information can be accessed across multiple devices. While iCloud is safe, there are still a few things you should never keep in cloud storage. That said, MedLog works by creating a detailed entry for each medication you’re taking. When you add one, you can record the name, its type, and even the total number of doses in your prescription. The shortcut checks if enough time has passed since the previous dose, and also keeps a count of how many doses are remaining.Meditative Breathing
Some days, meditating for the whole session feels like too much. You know it would help, but getting yourself to start is a real struggle. Moreover, staying focused on the rhythm isn’t simple. Your thoughts can wander before you even notice. Thankfully, the Meditative Breathing shortcut streamlines this process. It turns meditation sessions into a guided routine that can fit into even your busiest schedule. In short, this shortcut helps you meditate without the pressure of making time for meditation. It is what most of us need on hectic days. When you first open the shortcut, it asks how many breathing repetitions you want to do.
Once you pick a number, the shortcut asks you to get ready. After that, your device switches to Do Not Disturb. This is necessary so nothing appears on the screen during the session. From there, the shortcut guides you through each step. The session begins with breathing in for a set number of seconds. Some breathing techniques require you to hold your breath. If it doesn’t, the shortcut asks you to release your breath. It repeats this process until your chosen cycles are completed. After you’re done, the shortcut logs the session into the Health app, and your device goes back to normal.Health Check
Managing your health information can get tiring fast. Some details are saved in one app, while others end up in different places. After a while, everything starts to feel scattered all over the place. Moreover, many of us switch between different apps to check our steps or heart rate. The Health Check shortcut helps you avoid that mess by gathering the data you already have and showing it in one place. When you open it, the shortcut displays a list that shows your health stats. You’ll see everything listed separately, like calories burned, resting heart rate, sleep duration, and your daily activity time.
Tap on whatever you want to check, and the shortcut displays the most recent numbers. It is also fully customizable. Some people track sleep more than steps, while others care more about exercise minutes. Therefore, the shortcut lets you remove what you don’t want to use and keep the rest visible. Thus, keeping track of your stats is easier with all these details displayed side by side.Get Me There
Your day should be free of worries about directions, trying to figure out how to get somewhere. Get Me There is a navigation shortcut that takes you from one place to another, no matter how you’re getting there. When you open it for the first time, the shortcut asks for your destination and your preferred navigation service. Moreover, it can pull up directions for your upcoming calendar appointments. Here, you can also save places you often visit. For instance, you can save your home or work locations for quick access.
While you travel, the shortcut also shows nearby places. You can also notify someone when you’re on your way and share your current location. Surprisingly, it works with all transport modes. There are different options that include driving, cycling, and more. It also lets you open Uber or Lyft directly from the shortcut. Using it is straightforward, as the shortcut asks only for the information it needs, when it needs it. There’s no long setup process, which is typical of other navigation shortcuts like it.DrinkTracker
Staying hydrated might seem minor, yet it really makes a noticeable difference on days when we hardly drink anything, with a huge drop in energy and focus giving a sense of fatigue. It is important to hit your recommended daily hydration amount, and having a shortcut that keeps you accountable can be pretty helpful. The DrinkTracker shortcut records water and other drinks. It logs almost everything related to drinking. You can track your intake without worrying about caffeine or missing your water goals.
Before you start, the shortcut asks permission to access the Apple Health app for logging. Afterward, it can record drinks of different types and sizes. You can also check your progress against your personal goals. Furthermore, the shortcut shows how alcohol or caffeine influences your hydration each day. It syncs seamlessly with Apple Health, allowing you to access your data across different devices. Over time, continuous usage of this shortcut can have noticeable benefits. You will experience a healthy change and feel much better when performing your everyday tasks.Annotate
A lot of readers still prefer the feel of a real page. The little things make it special, such as highlighting favourite lines and folding the corners to mark them as reminders. Digital reading does not provide a similar experience, but it offers something of its own. Annotate brings a familiar pen-and-paper feel to iOS, along with several useful features. At the start, it asks for a few details. This includes the book’s title, the author, and page count. It will also ask three personalized questions for the initial setup. After that, the shortcut is ready to use.
Using it, you can highlight multiple passages and review them later in the highlighted history section. There’s also a feature that can be used to hear how certain words are pronounced, which gets results from a couple of search engines. Additionally, it keeps track of your detailed stats about reading progress. All in all, Annotate provides an experience that is a mix of both traditional reading and the convenience of smart reading. This is something that you’d never get solely from a physical book.Weather Wear
We’ve all had those days where we step outside and instantly regret our outfit choice. Either we’re underdressed for the chill air or overdressed for scorching heat. For these reasons, the Weather Wear shortcut takes the guesswork out of daily dressing for you by giving outfit suggestions based on the current weather in your area. It works as an outfit assistant that makes sure you’re prepared for highs, lows, rain chances, UV index, and more without having to check your weather app. You can see outfit recommendations by the hour or as a morning, afternoon, and evening breakdown.
Moreover, the shortcut lets you adjust various settings. These include editing the clothing list, setting temperature thresholds for each item, and deciding which details appear in your weather summary. You can also choose how you want the info to be delivered, which can be a message, an alert, or even spoken by Siri. For a bit of fun, there’s an experimental mode where Siri can read the forecast in voices like Yoda or a TV weatherman if you output via voice. Lastly, with automation, the shortcut can run every day and have your outfit suggestions ready before you even get out of bed.Pocket Money Pro
Tracking your spending needs a lot of attention. For instance, small purchases pile up one after another, and it gets easy to lose track of where your money went. Checking multiple apps can get frustrating, not to mention how time-consuming it is. The Pocket Money Pro shortcut makes this entire process much simpler by providing a personal finance dashboard. After a quick setup on first launch, the shortcut takes you directly to its home screen. There, you can see your current balance and the four most recent transactions.
The shortcut lets you add transactions easily by selecting whether it’s an expense or income. You only need to enter the amount and choose a category. Every entry is logged automatically, and the Transaction History shows more than just the last four records. A single tap on any transaction will show you a full breakdown, so you can see where you have spent your money. If you forget to log something, the Adjust Balance option lets you update your total in a few seconds.Daily Photo Review
If you’re the type of person who has a habit of photographing anything interesting you come across, the Photos app can fill up quickly with thousands of pictures. Over time, these pictures start to cover a significant amount of storage space on your Apple device, and it is challenging to decide which images you want to get rid of or keep. The Daily Photo Review shortcut helps tackle this problem by creating an automated way to review your pictures. Every day, it selects 100 random images for you to go through and delete or keep.
The shortcut never repeats the ones you’ve already checked, which helps your storage slowly clear up. To begin with, you first need to create two albums in your Photos app. You can name one “Daily Review” for the images the shortcut selects. The other one can be called “Reviewed Photos” to track the images you’ve already sorted. Once the shortcut is added, set a specific time for when it shows the pictures that fits your routine. While using it, you can even swipe up on a photo to find similar images in your camera roll to delete. Gradually, with continuous use, your available storage will improve, and you’ll end up with a well organized photo library having only the necessary content.
