NewsHubA petition to ban U. S. President Donald Trump from visiting the United Kingdom has drawn hundreds of thousands of signatures, and it will now be considered for a debate in the British parliament.
The petition had 770,000 signatures as of Sunday night — well above the 100,000 required for a debate in parliament. The petition started “because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen” if Trump came for an official state visit.
“Donald Trump’s well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales. Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit,” the petition says.

Politicians are more supportive this time around and several prominent figures have called on Prime Minister Theresa May to cancel the queen’s invitation.
“It’s slightly odd he should be invited so quickly and particularly in view of the statements that he’s made,” Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn told ITV1 Sunday . “I suspect this visit is something that might find its way into the long grass.”
Over 100,000 have already signed a petition demanding otherwise. @theresa_may think again. https://t.co/ySphksOliV https://t.co/ik2pWIysfc

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, a Muslim, also called on the future state visit to be canceled. (RELATED: London’s Muslim Mayor Wants Trump’s State Visit Cancelled)
“I don’t think he should be coming on a state visit while the ban is in place, I couldn’t be clearer,” Khan said Sunday .
