The Dutch brewer confirmed it was in talks about “a intensity transaction in honour of Brasil Kirin”.
Japanese business paper Nikkei reported Heineken could compensate $870m (£705m) for a Brazilian brewer, a large bonus from a $4bn it was valued during in 2011.
It comes as Heineken closes in on a apart understanding for UK pub user Punch Taverns.
Heineken concluded final month to acquire about 2,000 Punch Taverns pubs in a £400m deal.
