Powers Boothe has passed away on May 14th, 2017. He was less a month away from his 69th birthday.
Boothe is best remembered for his performances in films like Red Dawn (1984) , Tombstone (1993) , and Sin City (2005) , as well as television series like 24, Nashville, Deadwood, and Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones, for which he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding lead Actor In A Limited Series in 1980. Countless industry figures have taken to social media to pay their respects to Boothe, including his Red Dawn co-star Lea Thompson.

Boothe was the first person on either side of his family to attend college, as he pursued a degree in acting at Texas State University. That’s where he met Pam Cole, a fellow TSU student who he would go on to marry in 1969. Boothe reflected on his four decade marriage with American Profile in 2009:
“We were friends before all this acting stuff happened, ” Booth explained, “To me, the relationship is a success not because of what happens in good times, but how you get through the bad times. When you pull through things and show your trust and mettle and dependency on each other, you’ re so much stronger. I can’ t imagine life without her.”
According to Crackday, Boothe had an affair with actress Rebecca De Mornay that continued throughout the 1990s. The two met while on the set of the 1990 military drama By Dawn’s Early Light, and allegedly fell for each other, keeping their relationship hidden from the public due to Boothe’s marriage to Cole.
The two would later act opposite one another in the 1999 thriller A Crime of Passion. They union would allegedly come to a close before the end of the decade.
Despite the fact that Boothe and Cole stayed together until 2012, that didn’ t stop the actor from dating Marlene Tochal-Pennan starting in 2007. They kept their relationship hidden from the media, similar to that of De Mornay, and eventually made things official once Boothe finalized his divorce with Cole.
They married later in 2012, in what was said to be a quiet ceremony with close friends and family only.
While Boothe was born and raised in Texas, he moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s with his wife Pam. He spent the majority of his career living there, and the city serves as a hometown for his eldest son and daughter. That being said, Boothe’s heart remained in the south, and he would take any opportunity he could to visit.
During the production of Nashville, which he co-starred opposite his daughter Parisse, he moved his family to the city of the same name in Tennessee. “Many things about Nashville remind me of Texas, ” he said, “The people are generous and genuine. I like it a lot. To me, this place is a mix of all styles of music, where all the influences of the entire nation are in this cauldron.”
Boothe and Cole gave birth to two children during their marriage. There is Preston, 28, who is a graduate of the University of California, and Parisse, 34, who followed in her father’s footsteps and became an actress. Her credited appearances include Sin City (2005) , MacGruber (2008) , The Avengers (2012) , and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014) opposite her father.
Upon Boothe’s divorce and subsequent marriage to Marlene Tochal-Pennan, his gave birth to two more children: Reuben Travis Boothe, 8, and Reginald Paul Boothe, 7.
