Organisers have democratic message for the world on 20th anniversary of city’s return to China
The organiser of the annual pro-democracy march on July 1 wants everyone to wear black. Au Nok-hin, convenor for organiser the Civil Human Rights Front, said marchers would tell the world they wanted a real Hong Kong under the “one country, two systems” policy with a high degree of autonomy. He said on Saturday the slogan of the march, on the day marking the anniversary of the city’s return to Chinese sovereignty, would be: “One country, two systems, a lie of 20 years; Democratic self-government, retake Hong Kong.” “We hope everyone can join us on July 1 and be united to gather to express our voice to urge for a democratic, high autonomous government immediately, ” he said.
