The popular social media platform has updated its iOS and Android apps to add the new functionality that allows you to hide the pictures you’ve shared on your profile; visible only to you.
Instagram is one of the most successful apps among the social media landscape. The platform has amassed over 700 million users in a fairly short amount of time with Goldman Sachs declaring it as one of the most popular apps among millennials. The application’s reach can be attributed to the newer functionalities that the company provides consistently across several platforms.
Now, the company has updated its application for Android and iOS to add a newer feature: Archive. The new functionality allows you to „hide“ unflattering pictures of yourself from your profile. The archived photos will be visible only to you.
The Facebook-owned company explained the feature as:
In order to archive a picture, tap “…” at the top of the post and select “Archive”. The photos can then be accessed by clicking on the top right corner of your profile. Users with Instagram version 10.21 and above on Android and iOS can currently enjoy this feature. If the past is any indication, the feature shall soon port over to the Windows 10 version of the service.
