For the paparazzi, their watch has begun.
But they’ ve been misled.
When Kit Harington, who plays the well-known and resurrected “Game of Thrones” character Jon Snow, appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this week, he dished on the attempts made to kindly distract the paparazzi.
Last year, shortly after fans learned that the show was filming its seventh season abroad, photos emerged purporting to show Jon Snow and his entourage meeting up with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and hers, which included Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill) among them.

Just as quickly as they were posted to the web, some fans began questioning the veracity of the photos. Some of them show Dany giggling on the beach surrounded by her fellow cast members. Others show Jon Snow carrying an obviously artificial dragon head.
For some, the dots were still being connected: the show’s two most prolific characters (and in fact relatives) were going to rendezvous and team up to fight Cersei Lannister or the army of the dead.
But this week, Harington reminded fans not to buy into everything you see.
“We did fake some scenes, ” he told Kimmel. “We put together people in situations where we knew the paparazzi was around so they’ d take photos, and that would get on the internet to fake scenes.”

As the Huffington Post points out, the comment begs the question: With filming challenges and production costs, how could the crew dedicate so much time to misdirection?
Still, it appears they may’ ve.
It’s unclear which scenes were faked and which were authentic, if any.
Some of the content, reportedly photographed near film sets in Spain, could in fact be concealing the real narrative.
The man perm is on the rise thanks to Jon Snow
As HuffPo further points out, these beach photos are clear and in the open — perhaps an indicator of just how manufactured they are. (Ponder this: Would Dany be giggling if the cameras were really rolling?)
These reported falsities aside, Winter returns on Sunday. The premiere will kick off a seven-episode seventh season.
