Spring Point Marina in South Portland and Yachting Solutions in Rockland will share the federal funding.
SOUTH PORTLAND — Two Maine marinas will get more than $1.8 million in federal funds to grow docking space.
U. S. Rep Chellie Pingree said the grants will allow the marinas to serve more vessels on the state’s coast. The money is coming in the form of federal Boating Infrastructure Grants funding.
The marinas are Spring Point Marina in South Portland and Yachting Solutions in Rockland. The work in Rockland is expected to expand the boat basin. The South Portland grant will help pay to construct berthing space.
Pingree said Maine is also getting more than $400,000 in Clean Vessel Act money to improve its network of boat wastewater pumpout stations.
