Singer-songwriter Father John Misty posted a stirring eulogy on his Facebook page to Chuck E. Cheese Friday night.
CEC Entertainment, the company behind Chuck E. Cheese’s, announced earlier this week that it would begin phasing out the animatronic house band from its chain of family entertainment centers and restaurants.
The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Josh Tillman, took time to “humbly offer a few words in rememberence (sic) ” of bandleader Charles Entertainment Cheese.

“How he maintained that smile on his face, playing so consistently and with such little flash (even though I’m sure some nights he just wanted to stretch out and make it all about himself) is beyond me, ” Tillman writes.
“He had a style, and style cannot be taught; something we tend to forget in this era of manufactured pop stars.”
Tillman closes the note by declaring, “This man introduced me to music.”
Father John Misty is currently touring North America behind his latest album, “Pure Comedy.”
